Scuba Diving Courses, Certifications and Classes in Beautiful Cozumel Mexico with Dive Paradise!

PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course

Cozumel Scuba Diving Instruction

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

This is an introductory course to scuba, otherwise known as a “Resort Course”. It is a 2-3 hour first experience in Cozumel’s special underwater world. This Dive Paradise class is not a true course and does not qualify you for boat dives. You will initially breath off SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) in 3-4 feet of water. As the comfort level increases, you will be taken to a depth of about 12 feet where several basic exercises are practiced. The experience most often culminates with an instructor/supervised fun dive to about 25 feet. If you decide to continue into a full certification course, the price paid for this course will be applied toward the cost of full certification through Dive Paradise.

Dive Paradise General Information

Our Fleet

Dive Paradise Fleet

All Dive Paradise boats on “Caribbean” trips are equipped with a sundeck and a full-sized head (AKA bathroom, loo, baño or potty – for those who don’t speak “boat.”)

The gunnels (sides) are low for easy giant stride entries.

All boats offer convenient dive platforms. Getting out of the water is as easy as getting in.

C-Card Required

Proof of Certification

A certification card (C-Card) is required. The ONLY exception is for a group, where the certifying instructor has exclusive use of the boat, and the instructor is responsible for his or her students.

Dive Computers

Dive Computers

Dive Paradise is proud to be a PADI training facility. We follow the PADI Recreational Dive Planner (tables) on all dives, except for special, dedicated computer trips.

We conduct all dives in “divemaster-escorted groups.” As a result, we cannot use computers as a primary tool for planning maximum depth and bottom time. The divemaster can make exceptions, provided each diver has a computer and is skilled in its use. Please ask your divemaster for such exceptions when you board the boat.

Nitrox is available at an additional $260 MXN Pesos per tank. Proof of Nitrox training required.

Re-Compression Services

Re-Compression Services

Dive Paradise is affiliated with the Meditur hyperbaric facility. The chamber is located on Calle 6 Norte (6th Street North) #135, between 5th Ave. and 10th Ave. It’s connected with the hospital “Clinica San Miguel.” Dr. Pascual Piccolo is the presiding hyperbaric physician and general practitioner.

All divers are advised to obtain DAN insurance. Dive Assure and PADI are also recognized. If you have questions about the chamber or insurance coverage, feel free to contact us.
